The drastic shift in Hungarian diplomacy is clearly visible in Anita Orbán's summoning of the Russian ambassador over the Russian attack on Transcarpathia, just a day after she took office. Her predecessor, Péter Szijjártó regularly summoned ambassadors of Hungary's allies, but failed to summon the Russian ambassador since the war in Ukraine broke out—and even before that, he had only done so very rarely.
